Edna Hibel

Known for her Impressionist artworks, Edna Hibel was a great American artist, who lived from 1917 to 2014. Her career as a painter, lithographer and colorist lasted more than 60 years. When she was nine years old, she began experimenting with watercolors on paintings and soon realized that she wanted to become a painter. Her artistic style has been described as Classical Impressionistic, as she was deeply influenced by the work of Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Claude Monet and Mary Cassatt. The emphasis on accurate depiction of light, the use of soft pastel colors, the natural motifs and colorful portraits of mothers and children are some of the key features in her work.
