Description

Herbert Hoover TLS on White House Stationery Re: 1932 Re-Election Campaign

1p of a bifolium, measuring 7" x 9", Washington, D.C., dated December 3, 1932. Typed on White House stationery and boldly signed "Herbert Hoover." In a letter addressed to Jeremiah Milbank, Hoover expresses his thanks for campaign work and support given by his friend. Reading in full:

"True and unselfish friends are rare enough; those who add brains and energy are the almost unique species to which - to my perpetual renewal of pride and satisfaction - you belong. For your work in the campaign please accept again my unwearying gratitude and thanks." With flattened mail folds and minor ink spotting at the top left. Adhesive residue on verso. Boldly signed by Hoover.

Herbert Hoover (1874-1964) was the 31st president of the United States from 1929 to 1933. He ran for re-election in 1932 but was defeated by Democrat Franklin D. Roosevelt. Letters signed by Hoover on White House stationery are relatively scarce and would be an excellent addition to any collection!

This item comes with a Certificate from John Reznikoff, a premier authenticator for both major 3rd party authentication services, PSA and JSA (James Spence Authentications), as well as numerous auction houses.
