Jack Kerouac's Personally Owned Catalan Translation of "The Dharma Bums"
A Catalan translation of one of Jack Kerouac's classic texts, The Dharma Bums, once in the personal library of the famous Beatnik himself. The volume is stamped on the half title page with both the Jack Kerouac Estate stamp and the raised blind seal from Executor of the Estate, John Sampas.
Jack Kerouac (1922-1969), the famous American writer who brought us On The Road (1957), enjoys immense popularity in Europe. To Europeans, Kerouac symbolizes the best characteristics of the American spirit: curiosity, honesty, independence, and persistence.
The lot is comprised of: Jack Kerouac, Els pòtols mÃstics (Barcelona: Edicions Proa, 1967). Translated from English into Catalan by Manuel de Pedrolo. Scattered light water stains. Minor expected wear to the cover, and a few wrinkles to the shrink plastic. Else very good to near fine. This Catalan edition runs 292pp. 16mo. Originally published as Jack Kerouac, The Dharma Bums (New York: Viking Press, 1958).
