Item Details
Description
18" x 9" 18" Natural Amethyst Geode Quartz Cluster Crystal With Wooden Stand. The Amethyst is 18" tall x 9" wide. The stand is 8.5" high and 8.5" wide. Pictures do not do this item justice as it reflects an incredible amount of color and light and had to be photographed with indirect light in order to see the interior. This is priced well below the market value considering its size and condition. Amethyst is a violet variety of quartz. The name comes from the Koine Greek amethystos "not" and methysko "intoxicate", a reference to the belief that the stone protected its owner from drunkenness. The ancient Greeks wore amethyst and carved drinking vessels from it in the belief that it would prevent intoxication.
