Description
Lovely engraved gold brooch featuring an ambrotype of a civil war officer. The officer’s photo is mounted within the brooch and is surrounded by what appear to be small seed pearls. The brooch itself appears to be gold plated, and is engraved with a name on the back that appears to read “L____ P. Baker." It is unclear if this name refers to the soldier or another party. Positive identification is certainly possible with more effort.
Fine condition overall. Some of the seed pearls have fallen out of their mounts. The photo itself appears to be in good condition. A lovely piece of Civil War-period jewelry.
