1916 Childrens Literature Illustrated Kewpies VELVETEEN RABBIT 10 Book Lot
A delightful collection of early 20th century childrens literature! Included in this 10-book lot is the complete 6-book series of Thornton W. Burgess animal adventures, charmingly illustrated by Harrison Cady, as well as a pristine copy of The Velveteen Rabbit with original dust jacket. An interesting addition is The Funny Little Book by Johnny Gruelle, the creator of Raggedy Ann. Most notable is the signed edition of The Kewpie Primer, inscribed by author and illustrator Rose ONeill, who was the best-known and highest-paid female commercial illustrator in the United States during her lifetime. She is famous for her creation of the Kewpies, who were the most recognized cartoon characters in America until the creation of Mickey Mouse.
