New Guinea War Trumpet, Kul, Iatmul, Middle Sepik River, early to mid-20th century, the finial in the form of a bird's head, the body decorated in the typical Iatmul incised circular motifs, with a raised central hole for blowing into, mounted on a metal stand, lg. 24 1/4 in.
