Military General Service 1793-1814, 1 clasp, Corunna (Robt. Gray, Serjt. 26th Foot.) brooch fittings removed from reverse, re-affixed copy suspension with engraved clasp, fine £300-£400---Robert Gray was born at Glasgow, Lanarkshire, and enlisted there on 1 November 1803, for unlimited service, aged 16, a weaver by trade. 'He served with the 1st Battn in Germany in 1805, in Spain in 1808 & 9, being present at the battle of Corunna, in Walcheren in 1809, being present at the siege of Flushing, & in Portugal in 1811 & 12.' He was discharged at Dublin in the rank of Colour-Sergeant on 25 May 1827, in consequence of 'length of service and being worn out.'
