Item DetailsTITLE: Greek Pottery vase in the form of a woman head DESCRIPTION: Vase in the form of a woman head with a seven-pointed radiated headband and two long palm leaves placed at the sides of the neck. The vase is crowned by a standing female figure, with a diadem in her hair and dressed in a long mantle or broad, enveloping hymathione. It has a long ribbon handle that extends vertically from the back of the statuette to the back of the head. This vase comes from La Canosa di Puglia, an Italian town in the province of Barletta-Andria-Trani. This type of vase was also used as a funeral vase. DETAILS: Date/Origin: Greek (Canosan), Circa 3rd Century BC; Material: Terracotta; Conservation: The neck of the upper figure is glued and the handle is slightly damaged; Dimensions: 50 x 15 cm; Provenance: Classical Archaeology F. Cervera, Spain, 2014; Documents: Termoluminiscence test (TL); Exhibited: Feriarte, IFEMA (Madrid, 16-24 November, 2019).
