This is a vintage Primitive Native American Eskimo Inuit Seal/Walrus Figurine.
The figurine is made from soapstone and is very beautiful.
It is signed at the bottom "Bart Hanna - E5 640 - Igloolik - NWT
It is made by the famous Canadian Bart Hanna Kappianaq
It is app. 3 7/8" tall and 6 1/2" by 2" at the bottom.
It is in good vintage condition with some small imperfections.

Bart Hanna Kappianaq is a renowned sculptor based in Iglulik (Igloolik), NU.
Hanna Kappianaq was taught the basics of carving by his father
when he was young and later pursued formal artistic training at Algonquin College in Ottawa, ON.
He works with soapstone, serpentinite, alabaster, ivory and bone
to create carvings that stay true to the nature of the material.
He is also celebrated for the fine detailing in his sculptures.
His work is held in the permanent collections
of galleries and museums throughout Canada and the United states,
and has appeared in Inuit Art Quarterly on multiple occasions.
