1914 1st ed HG Wells The World Set Free ATOMIC BOMBS Dystopian Sci-Fi Physics

“If you fell down yesterday, stand up today.”

― H.G. Wells

Herbert George Wells was a 19th-century English writer who wrote books in several genres but is most remembered for his works of science fiction such as The Time Machine, War of the Worlds, and The First Men in the Moon.

In 1914, Wells published another dystopian sci-fi novel – The World Set Free. This book unwraps Wells theories on the ultra-destructive weapons which would eventually rule the world. Wells had a sense of the direction the world would go in the coming decades including advancements in technology and energy conservation, and atomic physics (i.e. atomic bombs).
