Description
Magna Graecia, Greek colonies of South Italy, probably Campania, ca. 4th century BCE. An simple yet elegant black glazed terracotta dish with a narrow leg and near-flat disc foot, a wide and shallow dish cavity, a lipped rim, and a smooth interior. The dark black surface has attained a gorgeous silvery iridescence that is almost reflective as you gaze into its depths. Size: 6.1" W x 2.5" H (15.5 cm x 6.4 cm)
Provenance: East Coast collection, New York Gallery, New York City, New York, USA, acquired before 2010
