Ben Benn (American, 1884-1983): a pioneer American modernist. Born Benjamin Rosenberg in Kamenets-Podolsky, Ukraine. Family immigrated to the US in the mid-1890s. Works in many museums, including the Metropolitan, Whitney, and Hirshhorn Museums. Ben Benn is the only American artist exhibited in the Hague Kreuller Collection, Nederlands, next to Van Gogh.
