History of racial oppression in Georgia with particular focus of an early 20th century purge of Black residents by White night-rider style terrorists. Presents that event as a link in a chain of racial oppression dating from the removal of Cherokee people from the county in the early 19th century to the implementation of Jim Crow and continuing efforts to repel and disparage non-White in the late 20th century. Illustrated.
Patrick Phillips is an American poet, professor, and translator. His 2015 poetry collection, Elegy for a Broken Machine, was a finalist for the National Book Award for Poetry Condition: Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Fine.
