Antique Chinese Qing Dynasty Carved A-Symmetrical Quan-Yin Sitting with Magnificent Flaming Mandorla Statues - Set of
Antique Pair of Huge Wood Carved and Remnant Polychrome Painted Quan-Yin Goddess of Mercy From The Chinese Qing Dynasty Sitting with a Magnificent Flaming Mandorla. The Huge Statues are A-Symmetrical with the Bodhisattva Guan, Quan, Kwan-Yin Sitting with opposite Knees lifted, one Statue The Goddess is Holding a Scroll. The Statues were acquired at a Midwest Auction said to have originated from New York's Chinatown in the late 1940s Flanking the entrance of an Old Yoga Temple or Yoga Studio.
The Temple was said to be Visited Regularly by Yoga Master Indra Devi who thought World Famous Violinist and Composer Yehudi Menuhin. The Antique Collectable Statues were said they could have made their way to Yehudi Menuhin's Extensive Buddha and Bodhisattva Collection of His Love and Devotion to Yoga Which was Sold Off Several Years Ago in a Private Estate Auction of His Son Gerads Estate in Oregon.
