An Egyptian Green-Glazed Steatite Scarab, New Kingdom, ca. 1550 - 1069 BCE, ca. 1550 - 1069 BCE:
Medium: Steatite
Of bright green-glazed steatite, the base inscribed with a baboon and a nefer symbol, the hieroglyph for beauty, the back with a suture of pronotum separation and naturalistically rendered legs, pierced longitudally for attachment.
Dimensions: Length: 13 mm (0.5 inches)
