A Hellenistic terracotta Brazier Protome, Hellenistic Period, ca. 3rd - 1st century BCE, ca. 3rd - 1st century BCE:
Medium: Terracottta
the attachment from a brazier, a pottery container for fire, molded within a rectangular framework and set vertically with the head of a man wearing a Phrygian style helmet, his long full beard extended forward to form support for a vessel.See reference and similar examples: Hayes, John W., Greek and Greek-Style Painted and Plain Pottery in the Royal Ontario Museum, 1992 ROM, fig. 247 - 250.
