An iconic item for modern collectors - a Pablo Picasso ceramic plate titled Motif Spirale. From the Madoura studio in France, created in 1957. White earthenware clay, decoration in engobes, knife engraved, glazed underside. Stamped and inscribed on the back: Edition Picasso, Madoura Plein Feu, K 119, Edition Picasso, 39/500, Madoura. Pablo Picasso was a prolific artist who worked in a wide range of mediums, including painting, sculpture, and ceramics. He was particularly drawn to working with clay, and he often collaborated with the Madoura studio in France. The studio produced several Picasso's most famous ceramic works, including the "Saucepan" and the "Bull's Head." From a private collection in Bloomfield, MI. Dimensions: 9.875 dia. In very good vintage condition.
