Napoleon Bonaparte on Dragoon Squadrons

Napoleon Bonaparte (1769-1821) Letter Signed, "Napoleon", in French, 1p, Milan, October 23, 1807. The visible portion of the letter measures 7.875" x 7.375", matted and framed with a portrait of Napoleon to 20" x 14". Not examined out of frame. With Christie's lotting tag to verso. Shallow folds and scattered foxing, overall in very good condition.

Bonaparte writes to his stepson, Prince Eugene de Beauharnais, translated in part, "My son, I am giving the order to the Grand Duke de Berg to go to Lodi to review the dragoon squadrons there. Give the orders so that the squadrons are ready tomorrow, upon the arrival of the Grand Duke. Thereupon I pray God will keep you well. / Your affectionate father."

This item comes with a Certificate from John Reznikoff, a premier authenticator for both major 3rd party authentication services, PSA and JSA (James Spence Authentications), as well as numerous auction houses.
