An official military appointment record signed by President William McKinley and his Secretary of War, Elihu Root, on February 15, 1901. This document marks the appointment of Frederick von Schrader to the office of Quartermaster with the rank of Major. Embossed blue War Office seal to lower left corner. The handwritten note at the upper left corner of the document is partially obscured, but related to the recording of the appointment with the Adjutant General's office.

Good. Age-toned, particularly at edges, and foxed, with several creases, and with minor damp staining to lower edge. Mounted to light board with some bubbling to adhesive.

Document dimensions: w 14.25 in x h 18.75 in. Board backing: w 14.75 in x h 19 in.
