BRASS DOUBLE DRUM SEXTANT
Britain, Circa 1850
Signed on the top plate “Capt. Georges R.N. (C.G.) Registered Double Sextant No. 63”. With telescope sight with rotating filters, inset steel scales with index arm, magnifier, vernier adjuster and lock, and hinged walnut handle. This large type of box or drum sextant is fitted with two mirrors to allow two bearings to be obtained at the same time. With box.
