Large double parchment leaf from a splendid, late-medieval prayer book
Bologna, around 1480
Two unusually nice, hand-painted, historicising initials in green, red, blue, white and gilt heightenings
With masterly miniatures in center and with fleuronnés extending over the entire font size
Two columns, 32-line Latin manuscript in brown and red ink
18 large penwork initials with fillers and extensions, alternating in red and blue
Text area: 23.5 x 17 cm
Splendid miniatures with initials: ca. 4.5 x 4.5 cm
Height of marginal borders: 27 and 24 cm
Excellently preserved book painting, color in fresh impression and without rubbings
As far as endownment is concerned, this is a rare and valuable document of late-medieval book painting
