NEW MARKET, SHENANDOAH VALLEY OF VIRGINIA EARTHENWARE / REDWARE TOBACCO JAR, lead-glazed, approximately one-quart capacity, slightly waisted conical form with sharp shoulder, galleried rim, and bevel-edge base, fully glazed underneath. Probably John G. Coffman (1803-1889). Circa 1840-1860. 6 1/4" H, 3 1/4" D rim.
