Watercolour on board, laid to backboard Signed, lower left, with London & North Eastern Railway label, affixed verso 51 x 79cm (20 1/8 x 30 3/4in.) Unframed The present work is the original artwork produced for the London & North Eastern Railway poster of Teesdale issued circa 1935. Haslehust is best known as a painter of landscapes of the English countryside. He was also a well-known illustrator and his work featured in many of the magazines of the day including the Illustrated London News and Tatler . He worked with both the LNER and LMS railways and produced a series of posters depicting Teesdale.
