Description
NEW MEXICO, b.1947 A ceramic sculpture of a Native American man by Glen LaFontaine. The standing figure is modeled wearing a beaded and tasseled leather cape, yellow tie, pierced shell earrings, and blue banded black hat. A second prize ENIPC (Eight Northern Indian Pueblo Council) ribbon with identifying information is attached. The artist is a member of the Turtle Mountain Band of the North Dakota Cree Indians. The figure is signed on the back of the right foot.

Provenance: From a Providence, Rhode Island estate with original sales receipt.
