Book Details: This group consists of six decorative antique volumes featuring American History, as shown in the corresponding images. Title found in this collection include:

Eminent Americans Comprising Brief Biographies of Leading Statement, Patriots, Orators and Others, Men and Women, Who Have Made American History, Vols I & II (complete), by Benson J. Lossing, 1890, illustrated with over 100 portraits.

New York by Sunlight and Gaslight: A Work Descriptive of the Great American metropolis, by James D. McCabe, c1880, engraved illustrations.

Report of the Board of General Managers of the Exhibit of the State of New York at the World’s Columbian Exhibition, Transmitted to the Legislature April 18, 1894, with illustrated plates, maps, diagrams and drawings; includes a large color folding map entitled “Economic and Geologic Map of the State of New York Showing the Location of its Mineral Deposits†by Frederick J. H. Merrill, in a pocket folder on the inside of the rear board.

A Sesqui-Centennial Souvenir Describing One Hundred and Fifty Years of Progress, with a Complete Story of the Sullivan Campaign of 1779 and a History of the Towns of the Finger Lakes Region Settled by Veterans of that Expedition, by Harry R. Melone, 1929, illustrations, photographs, advertisements.

The History of the Democratic Party from Thomas Jefferson to Grover Cleveland, by Chandos Fulton, 1892, wood-engraved illustrations.
Condition / Notes: These antique volumes show well with some typical indications of age and wear, including shelfwear and rubbing. The bindings and text blocks are sound. Text and illustrations are clear and crisp with mild to moderate age toning. Some volumes contain personal library plates; all volumes have writing by previous owners to the front endpapers.
