Book Details: This lot consists of three very rare antique Fuchs and Lang Mfg. Co.’s color sample books, as shown in the corresponding images. Based in New York City, the Fuchs and Lang Mfg. Co., ‘Manufacturers of Printing Inks, Litho. Inks, Bronze Powders and Machinery’ published these interesting books to present examples of the different colors and gradations of ink that they offered. The same images are presented in the various inks offered, to better represent the subtleties in color. These sample books date from c1890 and c1930.
Condition / Notes: These antique sample books show well with some typical indications of age and wear, including shelfwear/rubbing, with some soiling to covers. The two earlier volumes display cracked hinges and loosening spines, with some loss to the spines. Text blocks are sound. Text and illustrations are clear and legible through mild age toning/foxing. There is some soiling to text block edges.
