[2], xiii, [1], 104 pp. Period sheep, rubbed, hinges cracked (front board held by cords), occasional light foxing, pp. 4/5 with small stain, overall clean and Very Good. Provenance: ffe with early ownership signature of Wigglesworth; 20th c. armorial bookplate of John Sinclair to pastedown. ********************** FIRST EDITION IN ENGLISH, SCARCE. RBH records no previous auction appearance. The work is an answer to those raising questions regarding the character of Rousseau, after his death. The anecdotes provide an interesting glimpse into the personality of Rousseau.
