Description
[Deguerle, Jean Marie Nicolas.] ELOGE DES PERRUQUES, ENRICHI DE NOTES PLUS AMPLES QUE LE TEXTE. Paris: Maradan, [1799]. 6.75" x 4". x, 215 pp. 19th c. 1/4 morocco over marbled boards, hinges and ends rubbed, half-title with small closed tear, occasional light foxing, a few marginal chips, Very Good with front and lower margins untrimmed. ******************** FIRST PANEGYRIC ON THE WIG. The author hides behind the pseudonym of "le docteur Akerlio" as he writes this unusual work on the wig in the style of Erasmus' "Praise of Folly."
