King Hussein I & Queen Noor of Jordan Signed Holiday Card

A holiday card signed by Hussein bin Talal, King of Jordan (1935-1999) as "Hussein" and Queen Noor (née Lisa Halaby, born 1951) as "Noor Al-Hussein". The signatures appear below a message printed in calligraphy reading "With our / best wishes, regards / and the / Season's Greetings". The text and signatures face a 6.5" x 4.5" glossy color picture insert of three of their children, Prince Hamzah (born 1980), Prince Hashim (born 1981), and Princess Iman (born 1983). Presented within a heavy-duty brown stock card gilt embossed with a crown on the front cover, and tied with a ribbon featuring the colors of the Jordanian flag. Expected surface wear including minor scuffs or wrinkled corners. Else near fine. 10.125" x 8".

Hussein I ascended the Jordanian throne at age 17 in 1952, and ruled until his death in 1999. Fourth wife Lisa Halaby, a woman of Syrian-American heritage born in Washington, D.C., adopted the name Noor Al-Hussein upon her marriage to Hussein in 1978. The couple later had a fourth child, Princess Raiyah (born 1986).
