Description
PRINCE AUGUSTUS OF PRUSSIA: (1779-1843) Prussian General, son of Prince Augustus Ferdinand of Prussia and nephew of King Frederick the Great. He fought against Napoleon I and was captured by the French forces. Scarce A.L.S., `August´, one page, 4to, Berlin, 12th October 1831, to Friedrich von Schuckmann, in German. The prince thanks his correspondent for the invitation received to attend the foundation ceremony of the ''Preußischen Haupt-Bibel-Gesellschaft'', (''The High Biblical Society of Prussia''). Bearing a small 2.5 x 2.5 printed gravure of the Prince, neatly and lightly affixed to the lower right corner. Folded, with small tear to the fold not affecting the text or signature, otherwise about VG £120-200 Friedrich von Schuckmann (1755-1834) Prussian Minister of State.
