Calvin Coolidge DS Almost 3 Years to the Day after Predecessor Harding's Sudden Death

1p document signed by President Calvin Coolidge (1872-1933) as "Calvin Coolidge" at lower right. Signed at Washington, D.C. on July 28, 1926, almost three years to the very day Coolidge had assumed the presidency following the sudden death of President Warren G. Harding in San Francisco on August 2, 1923.

President Coolidge appointed office holder Edward K. Morris as Notary Public for the District of Columbia.

The partly printed and partly handwritten document is on watermarked cream paper displayed behind a sheet of Mylar plastic within an off-white mat with red filet complete with a frame plaque at bottom. Also cosigned by acting Attorney General William D. Mitchell as "William D. Mitchell" at lower left, next to a red embossed "Department of Justice" seal. The "lidg" of "Coolidge" is slightly smeared. Overall toning and mat burn. Isolated scuffs near edges, else very good. The sight size of the document is 18.75" x 13.5" while the overall size is 24" x 18".

This item comes with a Certificate from John Reznikoff, a premier authenticator for both major 3rd party authentication services, PSA and JSA (James Spence Authentications), as well as numerous auction houses.
