A rare commentary on civil and criminal law from 17th-century France. Collected and supplemented by Jean Imbert, ‘La Practique Judiciaire’ includes notes on political orders, judiciary edicts, arrests, sentencing and punishments, and the development of French law. While the crimes themselves were specific to France, the legal concepts were taken directly from the Enchiridion and translated and adapted for 17th-century Paris.
