Description

NO RESERVE Whaling.- Whittaker (George Byrom, publisher and bookseller, 1793-1847) Autograph Letter signed to George William Manby, 2pp., sm. 4to, [London], Ave Maria Lane, 16th September 1822, to the arctic explorer about promoting his whaling book, A Journal of a Voyage to Greenland, "I perceive by the papers that the last Vessels to the whale fishery have met with dreadful disasters, that being unfortunately the case can you bring by advertisement any part of your work before the public that will interest them so as to purchase the work", left margin slightly damaged by removal of mounting tape affecting a few letters on verso, folds, browned.
