This is a rare first edition of "Stanley's Wonderful Adventures in Africa" written by J.T. Headley and Willis Fletcher Johnson published in 1889 by Hubbard Brothers, in the office of the librarian of congress, at Washington. . Stanley's famous expeditions to Africa took place in the latter half of the 19th century. The book features a fantastic gilt Illustrated cover and spine with an abundance of rich illustrations throughout the entire piece. On page 32/33 this copy includes a rare map that unfolds out the pages. The map is torn although all pieces are accounted for. The book is in good condition. It measures 6.5" x 9".
