Famed Magician Harry Blackstone Sr. Signed Check for a Hotel Stay, PSA Slabbed and Graded NM 7

1p, measuring 6" x 2.75", Colon, Michigan, dated November 19, 1933. Boldly signed "Harry Blackstone." An E. Hill & Sons State Bank check, paying $4.10 to Hotel Haddam. Stamped with a cancellation stamp on the front, with additional stamps on verso. The check has been encapsulated and graded NM 7. Has flattened folds and a few small holes from removed staples. The cancellation stamp overlaps part of Blackstone's bold signature.

Harry Bouton Blackstone Sr. (1885-1965) was a stage magician and illusionist, born in Chicago, Illinois. He became very popular during World War II as a USO entertainer, billed as The Great Blackstone. His son Harry Blackstone Jr. followed in his father's footsteps and also became a magician.

This item comes with a Certificate from John Reznikoff, a premier authenticator for both major 3rd party authentication services, PSA and JSA (James Spence Authentications), as well as numerous auction houses.
